:::We don't really do fair use for prose. We are expected to write our own prose. But there's not a lot of specific guidance as to length or number of quotes whether in the article itself or embedded in the citations. The guideline [[Wikipedia:Non-free content#Text]] says "There is no automatic entitlement to use non-free content in an article or elsewhere on Wikipedia" and "Extensive quotation of copyrighted text is prohibited" but it doesn't specify how much is too much or how many quotes are too many. Regarding quotations within citations: if the subject matter is controversial or the sources are not readily accessible, I will typically leave it alone. Quotes from readily available web content on material that is not controversial or not likely to be challenged are good candidates for removal, especially if the amount and number and length of quotations is out of proportion to the length of the article. — [[User:Diannaa|Diannaa]] 🍁 ([[User talk:Diannaa|talk]]) 03:39, 19 April 2026 (UTC) |

::::Thanks - I have removed a lot of publicly available contents and I think not-controversial quotes are good candidates for removal as well. I will look at it later. [[User talk:Cinaroot|🐈Cinaroot]] 04:14, 19 April 2026 (UTC) |
