Jennifer Garner to Headline Comedy ‘One Attempt Remaining’ For Netflix With Kay Cannon Directing

Shawn Levy is an executive producer, and filming is scheduled to begin in February 2026. Here’s what we know so far about One Attempt Remaining on Netflix, which will be headlined by Jennifer Garner, who also produces. One Attempt Remaining is an upcoming Netflix Original drama film directed by Kay Cannon (Blockers) and written by Alexa Alemanni (The Librarians) and Joe Boothe (Love and Baseball). The film is produced by Shawny Levy in collaboration with 21 Laps Entertainment, a long-time partner of Netflix. In addition to Levy, several executive producers are involved, including Dan Cohen, Dan Levine, Becca Edelman, and Jennifer Garner. 21 Laps Entertainment is responsible for producing Netflix projects such as The Adam Project, There’s Someone Inside Your House, Love and Monsters, Kodachrome, Shadow and Bone, All the Light We Cannot See, The Perfect Couple, Stranger Things, and more. Here’s a longer synopsis for the upcoming film: “A young couple in their early 20s embark on a whirlwind marriage Vegas style and celebrate in a drunk state at a craps table winning a small sum in crypto. Cut to today, they’re divorced and have moved on with their lives when they each receive texts involving the SEC about a crypto an unclaimed crypto sum in the amount of $35 million. In order to access the amount, they need to remember their password. They have one attempt remaining and 48 hours before it expires to claim. They decide to go back and relive the 1 night in order to figure out the password and fall back in love.” Netflix’s official synopsis reads as follows: “Years after their acrimonious divorce, an ex-couple learns that the cryptocurrency they won on a crazy night on a cruise is now worth millions… but they’ve forgotten the password. With only three days left before the account expires, they must retrace their steps that night, not just to find the password to their fortune, but also why they fell in love in the first place.” Who are the cast members of One Attempt Remaining? At the time of writing, Jennifer Garner is the only person attached thus far. She’s now appeared in several Netflix movies and previously teamed with Shawn Levy on The Adam Project, one of Netflix’s most-watched movies. Elsewhere, she also appeared in Netflix’s Family Switch and Yes Day. What is the production status of One Attempt Remaining? When will the movie release? Filming dates are, of course, subject to change, but with production scheduled to wrap by April 2026, it’s still highly unlikely that the film will be released in 2026.
