The Online Quiz on Safe and Responsible Use of AI was organised by the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) initiative, functioning under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, in partnership with MyGov. This quiz was part of the Cyber Aware Digital Naagrik programme, which seeks to strengthen knowledge of cyber hygiene, security and privacy among Indian citizens. 

About the Quiz

The quiz was designed to help participants gain a better understanding of how to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) safely, ethically and responsibly. It covered topics related to the advantages of AI as well as its potential risks, with the intent of encouraging informed decision-making in everyday life and when using digital technologies. 

Quiz Format

  • A total of 10 multiple-choice questions

  • Time limit of 300 seconds for completion

  • Participants were required to log in to the MyGov platform to take the quiz

  • The quiz ran from 6 February 2026 to 6 March 2026. 

Prizes and Recognition

Participants competed for cash prizes based on their accuracy and speed in answering questions. The awards included: 

  • First Prize: ₹10,000 (1 winner)

  • Second Prize: ₹8,000 (1 winner)

  • Third Prize: ₹5,000 (1 winner)

  • Consolation Prizes: ₹3,000 each (7 winners)

Only the top ten participants were eligible for prizes, and each winner could receive only one award. 

Terms and Conditions

The quiz included standard terms and conditions, which covered eligibility, prize distribution and organising rules:

  • The programme is aimed at promoting awareness of information security and cyber hygiene across diverse segments of society. 

  • Winners needed to submit valid identity documentation, a photograph and bank details that matched their official records for prize disbursement. 

  • Ranking decisions were based on the highest score, with ties resolved by the shortest time taken to complete the quiz. 

  • Employees of the organisers and their family members were not eligible to participate. 

  • Organisers reserved the right to amend or withdraw the quiz, including changes to the terms and conditions, if required
