James Bond Movie Collection Heads to Netflix Under New MGM Licensing Pact

Picture: MGM Over the past couple of years, Netflix has been licensing again from distributors of all shapes and sizes who had previously turned off the taps in favor of keeping everything they own to themselves. One by one, many have begun returning to Netflix. Since mid-November, MGM, now owned by Amazon and Prime Video, has started licensing again in the US and internationally to Netflix. In the United States, we’ve already seen multiple MGM movies licensed beginning in late November, with more coming throughout December and, as we now know, into 2026. Those added in November include: Bottoms (2023) – Nov 27th – Teen comedy starring Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri as two unpopular queer best friends who start a self-defense fight club at school as a ploy to meet cheerleaders, only to spark an unexpected feminist uprising. Dog (2022) – Nov 27th – Road-trip dramedy starring Channing Tatum as an Army Ranger tasked with transporting a troubled military working dog, Lulu, to a fellow soldier’s funeral, forcing both man and dog to confront trauma along the way. Bones & All (2022) – Nov 27th – Romantic horror drama starring Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet as two young drifters who fall in love while sharing a dark, cannibalistic compulsion that pulls them across the American Midwest. Coming up in December:  Respect (2021) – Dec 4th – In this inspiring biopic, Aretha Franklin conquers harrowing hardships and finds her voice as she becomes the Queen of Soul — all on her own terms. The Covenant (2023) – Dec 5th – War thriller directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Jake Gyllenhaal as a U.S. Army sergeant rescued by an Afghan interpreter, played by Dar Salim, whom he later risks everything to save. House of Gucci (2021) – Dec 12th – This ensemble biographic drama from Ridley Scott tracks the rise of Patrizia Reggiani, who marries into the Gucci family.  The Hustle (2019) – Dec 12th – Rebel Wilson and Anne Hathaway star in this spy thriller. Wrath of Man (2021) – Dec 25th – An enigmatic employee of an armored truck company catches his co-workers off guard when he unleashes his violent skills during an attempted heist. Starring Jason Statham Many international regions have been picking up MGM movies in a similar fashion, in recent months, though dates and titles often differ.  James Bond Collection is Coming to Netflix Picture: MGM Numerous countries confirmed that all 25 James Bond films, including Never Say Never Again, will be hitting the streamer beginning on January 15th, 2026. European regions have already confirmed in their New on Netflix roundups that they’ll receive the movies, but our understanding is that Netflix in the United States will also receive them on the same date. All 25 official James Bond films, as well as Never Say Never Again, for a total of 26, will stream on Netflix, with most debuting on the service for the first time. As a reminder of the Bond movies coming: Dr. No (1962) From Russia with Love (1963) Goldfinger (1964) Thunderball (1965) You Only Live Twice (1967) On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969) Diamonds Are Forever (1971) Live and Let Die (1973) The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) Moonraker (1979) For Your Eyes Only (1981) Octopussy (1983) A View to a Kill (1985) The Living Daylights (1987) Licence to Kill (1989) GoldenEye (1995) Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) The World Is Not Enough (1999) Die Another Day (2002) Casino Royale (2006) Quantum of Solace (2008) Skyfall (2012) Spectre (2015) No Time to Die (2021) Never Say Never Again (1983) Further out, our understanding is that even more MGM movies are headed to Netflix US, including Rocky, Creed, The Addams Family, and more.  The length of these licenses differs, but our sources tell us many have been licensed for three-month periods, akin to many of the other regular licensed titles we see come and go from Netflix globally from different distributors.  The new licensing pact is also bringing the award-winning MGM Television series Fargo, which airs on FX in the US, to select regions (excluding the US) beginning December 18th.  Of course, Netflix has continued its relationship with MGM beyond the Amazon acquisition and this new licensing pact. MGM Television produces Netflix’s juggernaut series Wednesday, which is set to return for season 3, with production recently confirmed to begin in early 2026 for an expected mid-2027 debut. Netflix holds exclusive rights to the series for its entire run and retains the show for an additional ten years after the final season is released.
