Re:Rooh Afza edit war
Dear User:Chattenoir, thanks for your message on my talk page. I had a look at the edit history and you are right that it was there in the article before. Upon looking at the suggestion of User:Orientls, however, it seems like that paragraph would be more relevant to the article that pertains to the drink in Bangladesh. I don't feel strongly about the sub-section either way and am impartial as to whether that section is removed or kept from the article. I hope this helps. With regards, AnupamTalk 22:37, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
:Alright, I had a look at the paragraph in question and do contest that it is relevant to the article. WP:ONUS does put the burden on the individual(s) who wish to add information to the article (especially if it is contentious). I will start a talk page discussion regarding the sub-section. I hope this helps. With regards, AnupamTalk 01:06, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
::Thanks for starting a talk page section on it. Chattenoir (talk) 01:49, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
:::User:Chattenoir, this remark is unacceptable. Read the lede of the article. It states: "Other companies formulate the same un-patented recipe in these countries as well." I was simply adding that context to the addition by the IP editor. I think it is best if you use the talk page as that is not appropriate. Thanks, AnupamTalk 03:34, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
::::Also, I added a number of references to improve the lede of the article and to correct information regarding the origin of the drink (in Ghaziabad). You inappropriately removed those references. I would ask that you please revert your edit. AnupamTalk 03:36, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::I had to restore the earlier version due to vandalism made by you. Chattenoir (talk) 10:38, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::Why did you revert my edit on your talk page, pointing out the edit in question https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Anupam&diff=prev&oldid=1348960268 Chattenoir (talk) 10:43, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
::::The lead of the article only says that after your edit, and I do not believe it reflects any source. Correct me if I'm wrong. Chattenoir (talk) 10:38, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::You are actually wrong; read the revision of the article prior to any edits of mine. It clearly already stated "Other companies formulate the same un-patented recipe in these countries as well." Now that I have showed this to you, will you have the integrity to remove your false accusation from the noticeboard? Please be careful and have a look at WP:NORESVAND before calling proper edits "vandalism". Thanks, AnupamTalk 18:23, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
::::::Yeah you're right I got that wrong, but it's still not attributed to a source from what I can see. I have not made any false accusations, I am trying to prevent the removal of sourced content without consensus - which is vandalism and there is nothing wrong with calling it that. If you had waited to gain consensus or at least participate in a discussion before the removal of the content, we wouldn't be having this discussion. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. :Hi, from my perspective I am trying to prevent one, longstanding content is being repeatedly removed without consensus being reached. Did I do the wrong thing here? Chattenoir (talk) 10:36, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
:The paragraph in question is
:"Lawsuit & fines in Bangladesh
:On the complaint of false information, misleading advertisements and publication of false information on the web site, Safe Food Inspector Kamrul Hassan filed a case against Hamdard Laboratories Bangladesh on May 30, 2018. In the case, he mentions that the information published in the advertisement with 'Rooh Afza made with 35 fruit juice' is not correct. On June 12 of the same year, Pure food court judge AFM Maruf Chowdhury fined the company four lakhs taka for publishing misleading advertisements. If unable to pay the fine, then the Hamdard chairman and managing director would be punished for three months' imprisonment."
:this has been present for a long time, as you can see in this version from last year https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rooh_Afza&diff=prev&oldid=1322841620.

Introduction to contentious topics
{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
*adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
*comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
*follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
*comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
*refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) caste-related topics in South Asia.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the Ctopics/aware template. }} Zalaraz (talk) 04:57, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

::Don't worry about it, Chattenoir. This is a standard template for anyone who edits a topic related to South Asia. You have followed Wikipedia's policies on Rooh Afza, so I wouldn't sweat it. — Longewal (talk) 21:21, 16 April 2026 (UTC)
