Mickey Haller is no longer standing beside the defendant; he is the defendant. But that’s not all—Netflix has already delivered a massive verdict on the show’s future, confirming a fifth season is on the way. With the series returning to screens on February 5th, 2026, here is the most comprehensive and up-to-date guide to everything you need to know about Season 4, the confirmed Season 5, the new cast, and the plot. Is The Lincoln Lawyer returning for Season 5? Before we even dive into Season 4, we have huge news. On January 28th, 2026, just days before the S4 premiere, Netflix officially renewed The Lincoln Lawyer for a fifth season. Production on Season 5 is scheduled to begin imminently (March 2026) in Los Angeles, with co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez stating: “We’re so excited to share the upcoming fourth season with the audience on February 5th, and even more excited to share the news that we’re already hard at work on the next one.” Season 5 will consist of 10 episodes and will adapt Michael Connelly’s book Resurrection Walk (2023). When is The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 release date? Netflix has officially confirmed that The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 premieres globally on Thursday, February 5, 2026. The new season consists of 10 episodes, all dropping at once. We’ve had two major asset drops in the run-up to release, with the release date confirmed alongside initial first looks in September of last year, and then the big new trailer in mid-January 2026. Filming on the show began on February 7, 2025, and is one of the largest Netflix productions still filming in Los Angeles, typically on location. Filming was initially scheduled to wrap on June 17th, 2025, and it did. The cast and crew confirmed that filming had wrapped on season 4 on June 17th, 2025, as originally planned, with them attending a party on the 18th. Co-showrunner Ted Humphrey said, “Thank you to our incredible cast, crew, and production team for a fantastic season 4! We can’t wait to bring it to everyone very soon!” LARA SOLANKI/NETFLIX What is the plot of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4? The tables have turned completely on Mickey Haller. Season 4 adapts Michael Connelly’s sixth book in the series, The Law of Innocence (2020). Following the cliffhanger at the end of Season 3, Haller was pulled over by police who discovered the body of his former client, Sam Scales, in the trunk of his Lincoln. Now, Mickey must take the stand and be judged by a jury of his peers. He has to defend himself against a murder charge while incarcerated, all while being prosecuted by a relentless adversary. The official synopsis for the season reads: “On trial for a murder he didn’t commit, Mickey must face a relentless DA as he fights to prove his innocence, expose the real killer, and save his firm.” In a statement to Netflix, showrunners Humphrey and Rodriguez teased: “Season 4 is our most personal and emotional season yet. It presents the biggest stakes and the biggest challenge for Mickey and his team because now Mickey’s the client.” As a reminder, Netflix has largely been sticking to the book order when adapting each season. Here’s how they’ve adapted Michael Connelly’s novels so far: The Lincoln Lawyer (2005) The Brass Verdict (2008) – Adapted in Season 1 The Reversal (2010) The Fifth Witness (2011) – Adapted in Season 2 The Gods of Guilt (2013) – Adapted in Season 3 The Law of Innocence (2020) – Adapted in Season 4 (Premiering Feb 5, 2026) Resurrection Walk (2023) – Confirmed for Season 5 The Proving Ground (2025) – Presumably the source material for a potential sixth season.
