New Releases on Netflix This Week and Top 10 Movies & Series: March 6, 2025
Picture Credit: Music Box Films Welcome to your weekly new arrivals on Netflix in the United States, and I’m coming to you from Savannah, Georgia, for the last leg of my US trip! It’s been an incredibly busy week of new releases, thanks mostly to the usual first-of-the-month rotation we see across Netflix. Below, we’ll cover all 47 new movies and 15 new series, give you some recommendations plus look at what’s been trending in the daily US top 10 charts. Lots more to get excited about throughout the remainder of March 2026, including a couple of big additions to the library over the weekend, headlined by Nuremberg, a post-WWII film with Russell Crowe, where we follow a psychiatrist trying to assist the allies in convicting the remaining highest officers from the Nazi regime. A must-watch.  As always, here are three new things we think you should be watching this weekend:  What to Watch on Netflix This Weekend The Unknown Country (2022) Rating: TV-MA Runtime: 85 min Language: English Director: Morrisa Maltz Writer: Lily Gladstone, Morrisa Maltz, Lainey Shangreaux Cast: Lily Gladstone, Pam Richter, Tommy Heitkamp Reeling from a devastating loss, Tana (Lily Gladstone) packs up her late grandmother’s Cadillac and embarks on a solitary road trip from the Midwest down to the Texas-Mexico border. Along the way, she reconnects with her estranged Oglala Lakota family and crosses paths with everyday people who share their real-life stories. Blending narrative fiction with documentary-style vignettes, this meditative and beautifully shot indie film offers a quiet, soulful exploration of grief, healing, and the vast American landscape. It’s a must-watch if you appreciate character-driven, poetic cinema. War Machine (2026)  Age Rating: R Runtime: 106 min Language: English Director: Patrick Hughes Writer: James Beaufort, Patrick Hughes Cast: Joshua Diaz, Richard Cotta, Alan Ritchson Alan Ritchson is a major star now, thanks to his role in Reacher for Prime Video, but is he a movie star yet? The answer looks like it could increasingly be yes, and this new sci-fi action movie that Netflix produced with Lionsgate drops today globally. The military film follows the final recruits of a grueling special ops boot camp who encounter a deadly force from beyond this world. In our review, we gave it a 2.5-star rating, concluding: “While not giving its audience some lame vision of the not-too-distant future in which to roll their eyes is welcomed, War Machine barely clears the low bar set by its Netflix Original Sci-Fi Action Film peers. Alan Ritchson is an undeniable star who shines brightest when he is given a chance to be a little more playful & witty when he’s taking on the world’s worst; something that he was never afforded in this one-note survival film.” The Green Knight (2021) Rating: R Runtime: 130 min Language: English Director: David Lowery Writer: David Lowery Cast: Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain, King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight. Visually stunning and wonderfully weird, it’s a fantastic, atmospheric film to sink your teeth into if you’re looking for something off the beaten path this weekend.
