The SBI Youth for India Fellowship has opened applications for the 2026-27 batch — inviting passionate, socially-minded young graduates and professionals to apply for one of India’s most prestigious rural development fellowships. This flagship programme, supported by the State Bank of India (SBI) Foundation, provides a platform for youth to engage directly with communities across rural India, co-create sustainable solutions, and build leadership skills while contributing to meaningful impact.
What Is the SBI Youth for India Fellowship?
The SBI Youth for India Fellowship is a 13-month immersive rural development programme designed to empower youth to work at grassroots level with partner non-governmental organisations (NGOs) on real-world challenges. Fellows live and work in village locations, gaining insights into rural realities and contributing to projects across multiple thematic areas such as health, education, livelihood, women’s empowerment, environment, governance, and more.
The programme is structured into three broad phases — familiarisation with the community and project context; implementation of interventions; and sustenance of the work after its initial execution. This helps build long-term understanding and impact.
