Picture: NBC Universal The long-running US crime procedural Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will be making its return to Netflix in some international regions in February 2024. Starring Christopher Meloni, Mariska Hargitay, Richard Belzer, Dann Florek, and Ice-T, the show follows a squad that investigates and prosecutes crimes of a sexual nature. It has been on the air in the United States since the late 1990s and is currently in its 25th season, with well over 500 episodes to its name. The news of the arrival of SVU on Netflix in some regions comes just a few days after we reported that Netflix internationally was eying a slew of licensed shows for select regions. Other shows on the way include House MD, Parenthood, NCIS, Psych, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Since then, we’ve also learned that Sherlock, Hacks, Killing Eve, and Dexter will be hitting Netflix in select regions. Netflix confirmed the news to us and listed some of the regions set to receive some of the titles. According to a rep for Netflix, many of these titles will be hitting Netflix in certain countries, primarily in Europe but also in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand. Individual titles will differ from country to country, however. When will Law & Order: Special Victims Unit be on Netflix? The page for Law & Order: SVU has been active on Netflix for a few months now, but today, notices have begun being added to the pages that state that multiple seasons will be added to Netflix on February 15th, 2024. We’re still waiting on all the regions set to receive Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, but we can confirm Netflix in the United Kingdom and many European countries are set to see the show drop. We’re also seeing the dates available for Latin American countries like Brazil. We don’t currently know how many seasons of the show will be on the way to Netflix in those select regions. The coming soon notice states that “multiple seasons” are on the way. Will Law & Order: Special Victims Unit return to Netflix in the US? One region not currently set to see the return of Law & Order: SVU is the United States, where the show currently resides on two streaming platforms: Hulu and Peacock. Netflix US carried the show for a long time, going back to the early 2010s, but only kept a few of the newer seasons, with earlier seasons departing as new ones came onto the streaming service. That was until 2019 when we saw the complete removal of the show from the service. The page for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the United States currently redirects to the homepage.
