'''Jan Tati''' (Hungarian: ''Tati János''; born 17 September 1978, Debrecen, Hungary) is a Hungarian contemporary artist working in conceptual art and installation.

== Biography ==
Jan Tati was born in Debrecen, Hungary. In 1996, he enrolled at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest, where he studied painting and new media. He completed his studies in the early 2000s.

Between 2001 and 2005, he participated in independent exhibitions in Budapest and Vienna, presenting works related to abstract graphics and spatial composition. In 2004, he took part in a group exhibition of young artists in Berlin.

In 2006, he presented a series of graphic works in a private exhibition space in Budapest. From the mid-2000s onward, he gradually reduced his public activity and withdrew from regular participation in institutional projects.

After 2008, his exhibition activity became sporadic. Individual projects were realized in the form of limited presentations or temporary installations. During the 2010s, his works were occasionally included in group exhibitions of contemporary art in Central Europe, primarily through private collections.

Information about his current activities is limited.

== Work ==
Tati’s work is based on the interaction between geometric structure and its gradual transformation. His compositions often begin with grids, lines, and elementary forms, which are subsequently altered through layering, fragmentation, and tonal variation.

His practice explores perception, spatial relationships, and the role of empty space as an active component of the image.
