As we move into the second quarter of 2026, the streaming giant is showing no signs of slowing down. While it’s a little too early to begin publishing our huge April 2026 list, here’s an early look at the biggest confirmed Netflix Originals titles coming up in April 2026.
Following a massive March that saw the return of One Piece and the Peaky Blinders movie, April is shaping up to be a month of high-stakes drama, animated nostalgia, and star-studded comedies.
Here are the 8 biggest Netflix Originals you need to have on your radar for April 2026.
1. Beef (Season 2)
Release Date: April 16th, 2026
Format: Limited Series
Lee Sung Jin’s Emmy-sweeping anthology returns with a brand-new feud and an absolutely stacked cast. While the first season focused on the road-rage-fueled lives of Danny and Amy, Season 2 shifts the lens to a young couple (played by Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny) who witness an alarming physical altercation between their boss and his wife. This spiraling conflict drags in a high-powered billionaire (played by Oscar Isaac) and his rival (played by Carey Mulligan). Expect the same claustrophobic tension and dark comedy that made the first season a global phenomenon.
2. Stranger Things: Tales from ’85
Release Date: April 23rd, 2026
Format: Animated Series
Hawkins may have said its goodbyes in the main series, but the Duffer Brothers aren’t done with the 80s just yet. This new animated spinoff takes us back to the summer of 1985—the height of New Coke and Ghostbusters mania—to follow the core gang on a “lost” adventure that took place between Seasons 2 and 3. While the original cast doesn’t return to voice their characters, the animation style is said to be heavily inspired by Saturday morning cartoons of the era. It’s the perfect bridge for fans who aren’t quite ready to leave the Upside Down behind.
3. XO, Kitty (Season 3)
Release Date: April 2nd, 2026
Format: Series
XO, Kitty. (L to R) Anna Cathcart as Kitty Song Covey, Sang Heon Lee as Min Ho Moon in episode 302 of XO, Kitty. Cr. Youngsol Park/Netflix © 2026
Kitty Song Covey is back in Seoul for her junior year, and the drama is only getting more complicated. Following the cliffhanger of Season 2, Kitty is navigating her evolving feelings for Min Ho and Yuri while trying to uncover more secrets about her mother’s past at KISS. Anna Cathcart continues to lead this spin-off of To All The Boys, which has become a staple of Netflix’s YA lineup. If you’re looking for a breezy, romantic binge to start the month, this is it.
4. Apex
Release Date: April 24th
Format: Movie
One of Netflix’s big-budget action swings for the year, Apex stars Charlize Theron as a seasoned climber and former special ops soldier who is forced back into action when a group of hikers are taken hostage in a remote mountain range. Directed by Baltasar Kormákur (Everest), the film promises “practical effects over CGI” and some of the most grueling stunt sequences filmed in recent years. It’s being positioned as the “mountain version of Die Hard,” and we are here for it.
5. Dandelion
Release Date: April TBD
Format: Anime Series
Anime fans, mark your calendars. Hideaki Sorachi, the legendary creator of Gintama, sees his debut work, Dandelion, finally adapted for the screen. Produced by studio NAZ, this supernatural comedy follows two angels who are sent to Earth to help lost souls find peace, only to realize that humans are far more chaotic than they ever imagined. Given Sorachi’s track record, expect plenty of fourth-wall-breaking humor and surprisingly emotional gut punches.
6. Running Point (Season 2)
Release Date: April 23rd
Format: Series
RUNNING POINT SEASON 2. (L to R) Kate Hudson as Isla Gordon, Scott MacArthur as Ness Gordon, Drew Tarver as Sandy Gordon, Fabrizio Guido as Jackie, and Justin Theroux as Cam Gordon in Episode 201 of Running Point. Cr. Katrina Marcinowski/Netflix © 2025
Mindy Kaling’s workplace comedy set in the front office of a fictional NBA team returns for its second outing. Kate Hudson stars as the newly minted President of the Los Angeles Waves, still struggling to earn the respect of her brothers and the league. Season 2 will reportedly focus on the chaos of the “Trade Deadline” and features several high-profile NBA cameos. The series features mostly the same cast as season 1, with the added benefit of Ray Romano.
7. Roommates (2026)
Release Date: April 17th, 2026
Format: Movie
Happy Madison is back with a pair of movies feature Sandlers daughters in 2026. The first is Roommates, Gen Z’s take on the classic college comedy. Directed by Chandler Levack (I Like Movies), Roommates follows Devon (Sadie Sandler), a naive college freshman who thinks she’s hit the jackpot when she pairs up with the “cool and confident” Celeste (Chloe East). However, the honeymoon phase quickly ends as their friendship spirals into an all-out war of passive aggression.
The film boasts a massive ensemble cast including Billy Bryk, Sarah Sherman, Josh Segarra, and Storm Reid, with heavy hitters like Natasha Lyonne and Nick Kroll also stopping by. With Adam Sandler and Tim Herlihy producing, expect this to be one of the most-streamed movies of the spring.
