Eligibility Requirements

Educational Qualification

Applicants must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government of India. Professional qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant, and Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) are also acceptable.

Work Experience

Candidates should have a minimum of two years’ experience as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank (RRB) as listed under the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India. Those with experience in non-public sector banks must have earned a minimum annual gross salary of ₹9.50 lakh or more, supported by income documentation for the past 24 months.

Language Proficiency

Applicants must be capable of reading, writing and understanding the local language of the circle for which they apply. Proficiency is mandatory unless exempted by proof of language study at the 10th or 12th standard.

Age Limit

Salary and Benefits

Selected candidates will receive a salary within the Junior Management Grade Scale-I, with a starting basic pay of ₹48,480 per month. In addition to basic pay, officers are entitled to allowances such as:

  • House Rent Allowance (HRA) or Lease Rental

  • City Compensatory Allowance (CCA)

  • Provident Fund (PF)

  • National Pension System (NPS)

Selection Process

The selection for CBO posts will include multiple stages:

  1. Online Examination: This will include objective tests and a descriptive section aligned to banking knowledge, general awareness, and English language skills.

  2. Screening of Profiles: Shortlisted candidates will be assessed to confirm eligibility and alignment of experience with the job profile.

  3. Interview: Candidates will attend an interview where performance is evaluated for final merit ranking.

  4. Local Language Test: Candidates must demonstrate competence in the opted local language unless exempted by prior educational credentials.

  5. Final Merit List: Based on marks from the online test and interview, with defined weightage applied.
