From Bridgerton to One Piece, some of Netflix’s most popular and acclaimed series will return for more seasons in 2026. Which ones are we most excited for?
Overall, 2025 has been a pretty massive year for Netflix. Two of the most popular shows on the platform, Squid Game and Stranger Things, returned to wrap up their stories. There were also a few breakout hits, not least Adolescence, which quickly became Netflix’s top show for the first half of 2025.
Looking ahead to 2026, we’ve compiled our picks for the 10 most-anticipated returning series.
10Supacell Season 2
A personal favourite, Supacell is right up there with Netflix’s very best superhero series. Set in London, this 2024 series was created by Rapman. It follows five South Londoners who inexplicably acquire superpowers, the only connection between them being that they’ve all got a family history of sickle cell disease. With their newfound powers, they struggle to adapt to their daily lives. And when they find each other, they fight against an organisation determined to control them. It’s a gritty take on the genre with unique twists, taking viewers in unpredictable directions.
Rapman confirmed that Supacell season 2 had begun filming back in October 2025. Rapman has a 3-season plan for the series. “Supacell Season 1 is my Batman Begins. It’s a prequel of what they’ll be like,” he told TUDUM. ” Season 2 is when you really see what they become. That future you saw at the end of the pilot in London, that exact future doesn’t exist anymore. They’ve changed everything.
Netflix has not set a release date for Supacell season 2, but we expect it to air in mid-to-late 2026.
9BEEF Season 2
Beef Netflix Season 2 Renewal Preview
Many viewers consider BEEF to be one of Netflix’s best original shows ever. It took home four Emmys and three Golden Globes. The ratings speak for themselves, with the Emmy-winning series currently boasting 98% on Rotten Tomatoes and 8/10 on IMDb. The debut season takes place in California, chronicling the aftermath of a road rage incident between two strangers: Danny Cho (Steven Yeun) and Amy Lau (Ali Wong). The two struggle to move on from the incident, and their conflict intensifies, getting more and more personal.
In season 2, the show shifts to an anthology style, following a new incident with a new set of characters. The new cast includes: Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus), Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Charles Melton (Warfare), and Yuh-Jung Youn (Minari).
So, what is the new catalyst conflict? The longline reads: “A young couple witnesses an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner.”
8The Gentlemen Season 2

Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen was one of our biggest highlights of 2024 on Netflix, with the first season serving as a perfect addition to the world of the crime drama universe, which kicked off with the award-winning movie. With a vast new cast and stakes being upped significantly, The Gentlemen season 2 should deliver the goods with a confirmed 2026 return.
7The Night Agent Season 3
The Night Agent season 1 currently sits as the ninth most-popular Netflix series of all-time. Based on the best-selling Matthew Quirk novel, the TV adaptation of The Night Agent premiered on Netflix in 2023. Season 2 aired in January 2025, with season 3 premiering on February 19, 2026.
The Night Agent, the series follows Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), a low-level FBI agent who finds himself entangled in a vast conspiracy when he discovers a Russian mole mingling within the U.S. government. Plot details on season 3 are largely under wraps, but creator Shawn Ryan is teasing big things. “We’re so excited to bring new thrills, new worlds, new stunts, new characters, and new adventures to our fans in Season 3.”
6Outer Banks (Season 5)
Picture: Netflix
It’s hard to gauge the fandom of Outer Banks right now. Skipping its annual Poguelandia event this year, the show’s latest season caused uproar with the demise of one of its biggest and fan-favorite characters, JJ. Nevertheless, the show goes on, and from what we’ve seen and heard from production behind the scenes, the show definitely won’t be going out with a whimper. It’s shot extensively in Croatia for its final season, and other than JJ, you will see all your other favorites returning for one last time.
5The Hunting Wives Season 2
When Netflix licensed The Hunting Wives from Lionsgate for exclusive distribution, nobody expected that it would be as popular as it got. The series was an instant hit for the streamer; it even topped the list of most-Googled series of 2025. It was promptly renewed for another season.
The Hunting Wives follows Sophie, who moves from her life in the city to the new culture of East Texas. While settling into the community, she makes friends with Margo (Malin Ackerman), a wealthy socialite with a close circle of friends — who harbour secrets of their own.

4The Witcher Season 5
Netflix has invested a lot of money into the Witcher Universe over the years. Whether that money has been well spent is down to opinion. There’s been a lot of great content, but a fair share of disappointing entries. Besides the main show, there’s been a prequel series, Blood Origin, as well as two animated feature films.
The main show returned for its fourth season in Fall 2025. Despite a few reservations, we ended up enjoying it. Liam Hemsworth was a perfectly serviceable successor to Henry Cavill’s beloved portrayal of the character. We’re very excited to see how the series wraps up with its fifth and final season in 2026. The Witcher season 5 was filmed back-to-back with season 4. Netflix is expected to debut the final season in late 2026.
3Avatar: The Last Airbender Seasons 2 & 3

Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of the most beloved cartoons ever made. Its fanbase is legion. While comedic, the story itself is set in a rich fantasy world. It’s got some of the best world-building in fantasy television… ever. The show was always cited as the perfect IP for a live-action adaptation, and wasn’t for the want of trying. For instance, legendary director M. Night Shyamalan attempted a live-action movie many years back, but it was pretty diabolical.
In 2023, Netflix stepped in with a live-action series. Season 1 covered the first season of the animated series (although it condensed the plot massively, cutting a lot of storylines). Even so, the adaptation appealed to adult viewers thanks to its much darker and grittier tone. Avatar: The Last Airbender was ultimately renewed for two more seasons, right through to its natural conclusion. The two seasons were filmed back-to-back.
In season 2, the story takes viewers deeper into the Four Nations, mainly exploring the Earth Kingdom and its capital Ba Sing Se. We will also be introduced to fan-favourite, badass blind bandit Toph Beifong (Miya Cech), who joins the gang on their adventures.
2Bridgerton Season 4

Of all the new series coming to Netflix in January, Bridgerton is right up there with the most anticipated. Bridgerton is right near the summit of Netflix’s biggest shows. With plenty of books from Julia Quinn to draw from, there’s enough material to keep the show on our screens for many years to come.
Season 4 covers the love story of Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and the mysterious Lady in Silver, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). After running into each other at a masquerade ball, the two pursue an unlikely romance. She is a maid with a formidable stepmother. He is a Bridgerton. Their story is loosely inspired by the classic Cinderella narrative.
After debuting Part 1 on January 29, Part 2 will be released just a few weeks later on February 26, 2026.

There was a ton of apprehension going into Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece. We’re talking about one of the most beloved and revered anime shows of all-time. Viewers were understandably torn over whether a live-action show would work, but it instantly won over the majority of viewers. It retained the wacky and whimsical nature of the anime. Iñaki Godoy was particularly electric as Monkey D. Luffy
Season 2 will continue the journey of the Straw Hat Pirates, taking them into the Grand Line. Some of the biggest Arcs being covered include Loguetown, Whiskey Peak, and Drum Island.
