:::I'm open to your thoughts. Would it be more appropriate to entirely get rid of the line (my addition to the article), or just repeat the line with the exact amount of detail Arnold provides? HarvardJock🏫 (talk) 08:47, 20 April 2026 (UTC) |

::::From written sources we know that bigger Parthian cities were full of Bronze statues, only very few survived. The Parthians had a long history with many nobles who had certainly statues too. So, the chance that the most famous Parthian statue (out of hundreds or thousands that are lost) belongs to the most famous Parthian noble (out of thousands others, less famous ones) is very, very low. Arnold just saysː mages from the Parthian Empire, such as the statue from Shami often identified as Surena (Fig. 6. I think the arttcle might mention Surena, but should be very critical about the identification.Udimu (talk) 09:13, 20 April 2026 (UTC) |

:::::Unfortunately your comment borders on WP:OR and particularly WP:SYNTH. I don't like being "that guy" but do you actually have any policy-related objections to my post? Keep in mind, any of you guys are free to remove my contribution from the article at any time, as WP:ONUS is on me. Regardless what it says, the source is not a good choice, as it's not even about the Parthians (who are mentioned just once), let alone the Shami statue. Neither A Parthian Statuette from Susa and the Bronze Statue from Shami nor Shami statue makes any mention of Surena. --HistoryofIran (talk) 11:09, 20 April 2026 (UTC) |
