:: the second and fourth pair were provided with thin flanges. Drawings on page 307 show the three tyre profiles, which are named as "A.R.L.E. Profile 'A'" for the first and fifth pairs of coupled wheels, and also the pony wheels; "A.R.L.E. Profile 'E'" for the second and fourth pairs of coupled wheels; and "A.R.L.E. Profile 'X'" for the third pair of coupled wheels. It's clear from these drawings that the flanges of the second and fourth pairs were thinner. --[[User:Redrose64|Redrose64]] 🌹 ([[User talk:Redrose64|talk]]) 22:59, 20 April 2026 (UTC) |
