Nawab Nazim Mansur Ali Khan was born to Nawab [[Mubarak Ali Khan II]] and Rais-un-nisa Begum on 29 October 1830. He was only eight years old when he succeeded his father on 29 October 1838, which happened to be the day of [[Eid ul-Fitr]].
