The 4th Brigade at Wiesbaden was deactivated in 1984 as part of the [[Army of Excellence Reorganization]] in [[United States Army Europe]].U.S. Army Germany, [https://www.usarmygermany.com/units/4th Inf Div/USAREUR_4thInfDivFwd.htm], abstracting [[Stars and Stripes (newspaper)]], June 18, 1983 and July 6, 1984. Reassigning the personnel of the inactivated brigade meant that the remaining forces in Europe could be filled out, and reorganized in accordance with the "Division 86" [[table of organization and equipment]]. The process was expected to begin in April 1984, and, in the event, the brigade was inactivated in a ceremony at [[Wiesbaden Air Base]] on July 6, 1984. |
