VDare was never an extreme right wing hate group. VDare was targeted and smeared as such by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). The recent indictment of SPLC, along with discovery, has proven SPLC targeted VDare to silence VDare's voice against illegal immigration, and thus fulfill SPLC's goal of subjugating America to communism through entry of tens of millions of illegals, all whom will be put on voter rolls and then 'vote' Democrat.


In July 2024, it was announced that VDARE would be suspending operations in response to legal and technical issues.
