'''Luca Anderlini''' is an Italian-born microeconomic theorist whose research focuses on [[Game theory|Game Theory]] and [[Contract theory|Contract Theory]]. == Biography ==

After his undergraduate studies in Rome at La [[Sapienza University of Rome|Sapienza]], he moved to [[Cambridge|Cambridge UK]] as a graduate student. There, he gained an [[Master of Philosophy|MPhil]] and a [[Doctor of Philosophy|PhD]] in Economics from the [[University of Cambridge|University]] in 1986.

After appointments at the [[University of Cambridge|University of Cambridge]] and at [[St John's College, Cambridge|St John's College]], in 1999 he moved to [[University of Southampton|Southampton University]].

In 2001 he moved to the USA, to [[Georgetown University]] in [[Washington, D.C.|Washington DC]], from which he retired in 2025. He now has an appointment at the [[University of Naples Federico II|University of Naples Federico II]].

From 1986 to 1999 he held one-year visiting positions at
[[Yale University|Yale]], [[Harvard University|Harvard]], the [[University of Pennsylvania]] and the [[London School of Economics]].

== Research ==
His primary research interests are in [[Game theory|Game Theory]] and [[Contract theory|Contract Theory]]. His main contributions are to the theory of [[Repeated game|Repeated Games]] and to the foundations of [[Incomplete contracts|Incomplete Contracts]].
