::The simple answer to this question is that Crisp, in a book published after Crisp died, expressed that a sex change, had it been available, would have been taken. Wikipedia uses the latest known wish/expression of subject of BLPs in this matter, hence Crisp is given female pronouns etc throughout the article, even if as in this case this wish was not made publicly during Crisps lifetime.
