:The problem with [[MOS:INTHELEAD]] is that it doesn't provide examples as to what qualifies as "technically well-produced, representative, and visual association for the topic" -- that's something you would have to fill in the blanks yourself and your interpretation is prone to be subjective and potentially disagreed by some. The current poster is neutral. Maybe you personally don't like the current poster, but it is official and acceptable by Wiki standards. Personally, the poster looks fine to me, and apparently fine to others as well since [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kaiju&oldid=266738154 the poster's been on the article for 17 years].

:As I previously said, there was no consensus to remove the 1954 poster; no one simply challenged you on it but that's not the same as consensus. Please don't take offense but your image suggestion (aka a collage) is excessive, not to mention it has potential to invoke edit warring over what qualifies as a ''kaiju'' film or not; or "why is my favorite poster not included here?"; or how we decide what poster should be included in that collage. So, your image suggestion requires consensus. Also note, many film genre articles use one singular image (typically a poster) rather than a collage -- check [[Slasher film]], [[Comedy film]], [[Action film]], [[War film]], etc.

:As for the other images you added, like I said in my many edit summaries: it's overkill, excessive, and a violation of [[MOS:IMAGEREL]], [[WP:DUE]], and today I just discovered that it also violates [[WP:GALLERY]]. I left a couple behind because they do fulfill image relevancy by providing additional informative commentary. But the others are just blatant decorations.
