In the Apollo story, the snake is blamed for drinking the water, but the article never says who did (presumably the crow?). And what is the significance of waiting for figs to ripen? Also, if the snake was innocent, why was it punished too? Brutannica (talk) 21:59, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

Hello, I am professionally affiliated with NSF NOIRLab. I would like to propose adding an annotated wide-field photograph of the constellation Crater to the Stars subsection, alongside the existing naked-eye photograph (File:CraterCC.jpg). This is an additive proposal — the existing image would remain exactly where it is, unchanged. I am not proposing to replace or remove any current content.

I am aware that this is a Featured Article and that any change will be held to a higher standard. I fully defer to the community's judgment on whether this addition is appropriate, and I am happy to withdraw if reviewers prefer the article as it stands.

* Proposed change: Add the NOIRLab annotated constellation photograph immediately above the existing naked-eye image in the Stars subsection, as a left-aligned thumb.
* Image: :File:Crater (Annotated) (crater-ann).tiff
* Suggested caption: The constellation Crater showing the IAU boundaries, the constellation stick figure, and labels for its brightest stars. Astrophotograph by Eckhard Slawik, from NOIRLab's 88 Constellations project.
* Placement: Stars subsection, left-aligned, directly above the existing File:CraterCC.jpg image.
* Justification: The existing naked-eye photograph shows the constellation's appearance in the night sky, but does not identify individual stars or show the IAU boundary. The annotated image serves a complementary reference function — helping readers locate and identify the labeled brightest stars discussed in the prose. The two images serve genuinely different reader needs and the section has sufficient text to accommodate both without visual imbalance.
* License: CC BY 4.0 (NOIRLab/NSF/AURA)

The exact wikitext to insert immediately above the existing [[Image:CraterCC.jpg|... line would be:

[[File:Crater (Annotated) (crater-ann).tiff|thumb|left|upright=1.2|The constellation Crater showing the IAU boundaries, the constellation stick figure, and labels for its brightest stars. Astrophotograph by Eckhard Slawik, from NOIRLab's 88 Constellations project.]]

I welcome any feedback. In particular, I am happy to (1) adjust the caption wording, (2) replace the external caption link with a citation if reviewers prefer a reference over an inline external link, or (3) withdraw this proposal entirely if the community prefers the article as it stands. Thank you for your time. Marcodatadev (talk) 19:34, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
