The article referred |
The article referred originally to [[Goring-by-Sea]], in fact it is well known that Wilde stayed at Ferry House in [[Goring-on-Thames]] during the summer of 1893. Apart from Lord Goring, other characters are named after villages and geographical features in the surrounding area: the adjacent [[Chiltern Hills]], [[Caversham, Reading|Caversham]] (9 miles to the south east), [[Chieveley]] (11 miles to the west), [[Chilton, Oxfordshire|Chilton]] (9 miles to the north west) and nearby [[Basildon, Berkshire|Basildon]] (immediately to the south).
