In Feburary 2026, a user asked "is lutris [[AI slop|slop]] now''"'' after noticing an increase in "LLM generated commits" to Lutris's Github repository. Comandon replied that the AI is "tremendously helpful" and removed all of the Claude co-authorship on those commits from the past few days, hiding what parts of the code were generated with AI. This move was criticized for harming trust in the project and creating a copyright issue over who owns the code in each commit. The Claude co-authorship was restored a few days later.{{Cite web |date=2026-03-12 |title=Lutris now being built with Claude AI, developer decides to hide it after backlash |url=https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2026/03/lutris-now-being-built-with-claude-ai-developer-decides-to-hide-it-after-backlash/ |access-date=2026-04-20 |website=GamingOnLinux |language=en}}
