== Bantam variety == |
|||
The bantam variety was developed in England by crossing the large fowl variety with bantam [[Sussex chicken|Sussex]] and an unidentified breed. Egg production is the same as in the large birds of this breed; the minimum egg weight suitable for incubation is 35 grams. Roosters weigh 900 grams and hens up to 800 grams. They are noted for their docile temperament; bantam hens also require free range. Their color varieties are the same as those of the standard birds of the breed.{{Cite web |title=houdanfaverolle/standardhoudangr |url=http://houdanfaverollesclub.free.fr/standard/standardhoudangr.html |access-date=2026-04-24 |website=houdanfaverollesclub.free.fr}} |
