Jones anchored the back line for the Bucks last summer, playing every minute of 15 league matches — all but one — as Flint City marched to the USL2 Central Conference title. In summer 2024, he steadied USL2 Western Conference winners FC Tucson. Jones started 14 matches this past fall in his junior season with the University of Wisconsin (8-8), earning north regional third-team honors from United Soccer Coaches. Also capable in the midfield, Jones hit the ground running in his first season with the Badgers in fall 2024, starting 13 matches and scoring once. He had transferred after a stellar freshman season at Oklahoma Christian University, where he was named the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year and became the program’s first player to earn first-team regional honors. The native of Wednesbury, England, moved to the U.S. after making his professional debut at 17 for EFL League Two side Port Vale. He appeared in an EFL Trophy group-stage match in 2021. Jones left his youth club on loan to join Northern Premier League Division One West side Newcastle Town, eventually joining Southern League Premier Division Central club Alvechurch.
