I'm adding this note because I've had issues in the past with articles about notable academics getting deleted erroneously for the reason that they were not notable enough. I want to be sure any editor approving or disapproving this article is up to date on the notability guidelines for academics. |
According to [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:NACADEMIC&redirect=no WP:NACADEMIC], if a person is named a MacArthur Fellow, they are automatically notable enough for a Wikipedia article under Criterion 2: "The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level". See specific criteria notes 2a: "major academic awards, such as the Nobel Prize, MacArthur Fellowship, the Fields Medal, the Bancroft Prize, the Pulitzer Prize for History, etc., always qualify under Criterion 2". |
Han is also notable enough as an academic under Criterion 5: "The person has held a distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research, a named chair appointment that indicates a comparable level of achievement, or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon". She was the Anton Volk Professor of Political Science and Environmental Politics at UC - Santa Barbara, which to me qualifies fairly clearly. |
Once these criteria have been met, "non-independent sources, such as official institutional and professional sources, are widely accepted as reliable sourcing for routine, uncontroversial details" (see general notes). To my understanding, adding multiple independent sources is nice, but not essential, once the above criteria have been met. (I.E., if a reputable independent source is cited saying a person won a MacArthur Fellowship, you can add information from their page at their institution for basic biographical details) |

Han more than meets the requirements for notability, and given the LLM-generated segments of the initial draft seem to have been removed by [[User:ForsythiaJo]], I see no reason for the article to be rejected again.
