Docusign’s Platform emails recipients an electronically signed document requesting review of a document after it is uploaded. Each party must agree to complete business electronically, review the document, and apply a signature. Signatures may be added from a stored copy of a signature or generated automatically by the software. Phone confirmation and background checks are offered as premium services. Qualified and Advanced e-signatures for the European market are possible through a seamless integration with local TSPs (Trusted service providers) such as Swisscom.

Docusign also offers a wide range of different Contract Lifecycle Management solutions. After an acquisition of SpringCM, they have launched Docusign CLM as their flagship software for Contract Lifecycle Management processes.

Since 2024, Docusign has focused on restructuring their e-sign product. The base subscription now comes as a platform approach and is called Docusign IAM (Intelligent Agreement Management). IAM acts as “Lite” Version of Docusign CLM and comes with an AI supported Contract Repository (Docusign Navigator) and a Workflow Manager (Docusign Maestro) that acts as an interconnecting Integration in Enterprise System landscapes.

One of the game changing characteristics of Docusign’s AI approach, is the use of an independent AI engine (IRIS) and an “Out-of-the-box” approach that doesn’t require a full implementation. Docusign IRIS is focused solely on processing contract data since the engine was trained on these. This makes the main difference between other vendors that use general LLMs which are trained on broad ranges of universal and public accessible information.

Docusign’s product enhancements for IAM includes “Agreement Desk”, “AI Assisted Review” and specialized IAM modules that focus on different industries and departments. While IAM for CX is built to automate customer facing processes in the Financial sector, the IAM Core editions aim towards Legal, HR, Procurement and Sales operations.

IAM hereby offers a plug and play solution for department or use case specific processes that require a slim and no-code/ low-code automation.
